Eurafrica Conservation Projects – ODV (ECP – ODV; rep. n. 126386; CF 92036800586 ) is an Italian non-profit organization registered in the “Registro Unico Nazionale del Terzo Settore (RUNTS)” as a Voluntary Organization (Organizzazione di Volontariato – ODV). Founded in 2018 by Elena Ramella Levis, Dr. Federico Romani and Prof. Rocco De Vitto, ECP works to promote biodiversity conservation through science-based actions, education and international cooperation.
ECP – ODV pursues civic, solidarity and social utility goals by carrying out activities of general interest, with a strong involvement of trained volunteers and professionals.
The Association’s main activities include:
- Applied scientific research supporting wildlife conservation and sustainable management of natural resources
- Field-based conservation actions aimed at the protection and restoration of natural environments
- Environmental education and capacity building
- Graduate and post-graduate training in wildlife and conservation biology
To support its mission, ECP conducts fundraising activities and collaborates with local institutions, universities, NGOs and other entities sharing similar objectives.
ECP specifically promotes the conservation of birds in Africa and Europe, with particular focus on species listed as Vulnerable, Endangered and Critically Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
ECP operates according to principles of transparency, high scientific standards and accountability. The Association is governed by a Board and supported by qualified professionals and researchers, ensuring that all activities comply with national regulations, ethical standards and internationally recognized best practices in conservation science. Financial resources are managed transparently and are exclusively reinvested in the Association’s institutional activities.

The role of Treasurer is assigned to the President, who oversees financial management and reporting in compliance with Italian Third Sector regulations.
ECP’s governance structure complies with Italian Third Sector Code and ensures the separation between strategic oversight and operational activities.
