The success of our projects relies on collaboration with scientific, operational, and financial partners
Active contributors to the Northern Tanzania Secretarybird Project include the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI), The Peregrine Fund (which provides both operational and financial support and serves as the project’s main partner), Biodiversity Research Institute (active in Kenya), and the universities of Wageningen, Florence, Ferrara, and Pavia, which provide scientific and operational expertise in spatial ecology and population genomics.
The project also receives logistical support from OIKOS East Africa, while field accommodation in the Serengeti and Tarangire protected areas is provided by partner tour operators Savannah Explorers Ltd, Asilia Africa, and Ndutu Safari Lodge, ensuring continuity of field activities.
In the first two years, the project was also supported by Fondazione Società Zoologica La Torbiera.
Eurafrica Conservation Projects – ODV has also received funding grants from Revive & Restore, The International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (I.A.A.T.E.), and The Explorers Club for specific research and conservation activities.
These collaborations allow us to carry out evidence-based projects, combining local and academic expertise with logistical and financial support.
